Am I the only one that has a problem with the way the TV schedule listings in the Wisconsin State Journal are sorted? They should sort according to the NAME of the Station and not the NUMBER of the channel. Yes, numerically it looks nice and neat but it is virtually useless for finding a station name. Where is the BRAVO channel? Near the top of the list? No. Almost at the very bottom because it is channel 59. Is WGN at the bottom of the list? NO! Its near the TOP because it is channel 13! You have to memorize the channel numbers in order to find something in the listing. Completely useless.
Its the same thing as trying find a street on a map and you look at the index and, instead of being listed according to the name of the street, they are listed according to the coordinates. Oh sure, the name is there somewhere but there is no way to find the name but by going down the list multiple times trying to pick the name out. Nobody would make a map like that so why are you doing the TV Channel listings like that?
This is a simple, logical fix: Just sort according to name instead of by number.
People would be amazed that they can, NOW, after all these years of flat out stupidity, actually find a channel name by looking down the list in alphabetical order and not have to search up and down the list trying to find out where the heck is the listing for the AMC channel.
Can somebody just give me a logical reason or even a technical reason why this cannot or should not be done? Are we living in the Twilight Zone?
