How to NOT get charged that "convenience fee" at Fandango

Here is how to NOT get charged that "convenience fee" at Fandango. Sorry if this is confusing but I already paid the fee twice and then I asked Marcus and Fandango for directions on the proper way to do it to not pay the fee.

From Marcus:

Thank you for contacting Marcus Theatres. I apologize for any difficulty you’ve experienced purchasing tickets online. While the layout is slightly different on Fandango, you can absolutely still enter your Magical Movie Rewards number for online purchases and be exempted from the convenience fee. For General seating theatres the prompt occurs after the number of tickets is selected, and for Reserved seating locations the prompt takes place after the seats are selected from the seat map. The prompt looks like this:

Click the “down arrow” to open the field and enter your Rewards card number.

From Fandango:

In regards to adding your rewards card to your purchase please bear in mind that on the final page you should see 'THEATER REWARDS' right under the options to sign in or check out as a guest. Under the theater rewards option you should see "Earn Rewards and waive the convenience fee!" and a drop down box right beside MAGICAL MOVIE REWARDS. Once you hit the drop down box enter the Marcus Rewards Card number and hit apply. After which, look to the right on the page, under the movie details you should see the full charge, the fees taken off the Rewards Cards and the remaining balance.

You can also save your card to your account so you do not have to add it to the purchase each time. The steps below should allow you to do this:

- Please sign in using the email address and password currently registered on your account.

- Once you have signed in, click ‘My VIP Account’ in the upper right corner of the homepage.

- Next, click the heading ‘Account Settings’ to update your personal information, including your name, email address, passwords and payment method.

- Another heading under the FandangoVIP banner is ‘Partner Rewards.’ You can select that option to update the saved theater gift cards under your profile.

- Please be sure to click 'Save' in each section after changes have been made.
